GIF Speed Changer
Make any animated GIF faster or slower in your browser. From subtle frame-rate tweaks (1.2×) to dramatic slow-motion (0.
How it works
The tool decodes every frame using the browser's ImageDecoder API and keeps each frame intact. Only the per-frame delay is multiplied by the inverse of your chosen speed factor. A new GIF is then encoded with the adjusted timings and the same number of frames.
Features
- Speed multiplier from 0.1× (very slow) to 5× (very fast)
- Adjustable color depth (2–256 colors)
- Side-by-side before/after preview
- 100% local processing
- Works in modern Chromium and Firefox browsers
Use cases
- Slow-motion meme effects
- Fast-forward time-lapses
- Tutorial GIFs with adjustable pacing
- Speeding up long demo loops for social posts
- Calming down jittery animations for accessibility
- Sticker pack timing fine-tuning
Tips
At the extreme low end (0.1×) GIFs may appear to barely move — perfect for ultra-slow-mo effects. At 5×, fast animations may flicker; consider 2–3× for smoother fast-forward results.
