What it does

This plays the design back stitch by stitch on a canvas, the way a machine would actually sew it — one needle position at a time, in the exact order recorded in the file, jumps and trims included. It is not a generic wireframe animation; the stitch order and colour-change points come straight from decoding the file's own records.

Playback controls

Play/pause steps through automatically. The speed slider controls how many stitches advance per animation tick, from a careful crawl to a fast preview of a design with tens of thousands of stitches. The scrub bar jumps straight to any stitch index — useful for checking exactly what the needle is doing at, say, stitch 4,200 without waiting for playback to get there.

Colour blocks

Below the canvas is a table of every colour block: which stitch range it covers and how many stitches it contains. Clicking a row (or its seek button) jumps the simulation straight to the start of that block — handy for checking a colour-change sequence matches what you expect before threading a machine.

Why this helps

A stitch file that looks fine as a static image can still have digitising problems only visible in sequence — an unnecessary long jump crossing the design, a colour ordered inefficiently, a trim missing where one should be. Watching the sew order surfaces those before they cost thread time on the machine.
