HEIC to JPG Converter
Convert HEIC and HEIF photos captured by iPhones and iPads into the universally supported JPG format. Keep your memories, drop the compatibility headaches.
Why convert HEIC to JPG
Since iOS 11, Apple devices save photos in HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) format by default. HEIC is smaller than JPG at the same quality, but it is not widely supported outside the Apple ecosystem. Windows built-in viewers, many web services, older Android phones, and countless desktop apps either refuse to open HEIC files or display a black square. Converting to JPG solves every one of those problems in one step.
How it works
This tool runs entirely in your browser using a pure-JavaScript decoder based on libheif. Your photos never leave your device — no upload, no cloud, no tracking. You can select one HEIC file or drop in a whole folder of vacation pictures; each image is decoded and re-encoded as JPG right on the spot.
Quality control
Use the quality slider to balance file size and visual fidelity. A setting around 90% preserves details that are virtually indistinguishable from the original, while lower values produce smaller files ideal for email attachments or web uploads. For archival purposes, 95–100% is recommended.
Common use cases
- Sending iPhone photos to Windows users who cannot open HEIC
- Uploading pictures to websites that only accept JPG or JPEG
- Editing photos in older desktop software
- Printing through services that require standard JPG input
- Creating universal backups that work on any device
Privacy and speed
Because conversion happens locally, there is no upload wait time and no privacy concerns. Large batches are processed sequentially to keep your browser responsive. The resulting JPGs preserve the original dimensions and color profile of your HEIC photos.
